Job Description:
Responsibilities
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Tasks
--- Make waste pickups at labs as needed.
--- Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests,
and land disposal restrictions notifications.
--- Identify unknown laboratory chemicals when they are
encountered.
--- Perform inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas
to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance.
--- Inspect storage area for leaks or spills.
--- Inspect drums for compliance with labeling regulations.
--- Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for
disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
--- Sampling and profiling of new waste streams or any wastes
needing analytical testing.
--- Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork.
--- Utilize CHOICE waste management software to efficiently and
accurately manage waste program.
--- Assign proper waste codes to all materials that are designated
for disposal.
--- Maintain and manage waste profile data.
--- Evaluate specialty waste materials such as gas cylinders and
potentially explosive compounds and determine disposal options.

Qualifications
Education/Experience: Minimum Requirements
Required/Preferred Education Description Major/Specialization
Required 2 years college or specialized training
Chemistry/Biology/Environmental Science/Related
Experience: 3 to 5 years
Alternative: Alternative combinations of education and experience
may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Required/Preferred Certificate or License
Required 40 Hour OSHA Training.
Required Forklift Training and certification.
Required Reactive Materials certification.
Required DOT Training.
Required CleanPack Chemist Training Course.
Required LICENSES: Valid drivers license with clean driving record
(*see definition below) Commercial drivers license-Class "B/C" with
hazardous materials (preferred)
Required Clean Driving record, for the purposes of CHESI
employment, includes: No more than 2 moving violations in the past
3 years No DUI/DWI in past 3 years No preventable accidents in the
past year No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
No serious moving violations in past 3 years, i.e., Reckless
driving, Driving to endanger, Open alcohol containers, etc.
