We are supporting high profile transportation projects in the Inland Empire and Orange County such as Brightline West (high speed rail), I-10 Freeway corridor in San Bernardino, various LA Metro and Caltrans Highway projects. HNTB is currently seeking to hire a traffic project engineer in their Orange County or Ontario office. The target applicant will have eight to twelve years of experience in traffic engineering and operations modeling, but slightly more or less experience is acceptable. The candidate will support our Southern California traffic staff in a variety of traffic operational analysis and traffic design tasks. Project work will include modeling, data analysis, design, estimating, specifications, and report writing on freeway corridor, arterial, and transit projects at various stages of development (ranging from the planning phase through construction). Typical deliverable work includes feasibility studies, technical studies in support of environmental documents, and transportation management plans (TMPs). Communications skills (verbal and written) and ability to work with remote teams are very important.What You'll Do:

• Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence to the schedule and budget on projects.
• Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.
• Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team's work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.
• Coordinates technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.
• Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or
  • PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.What You'll Bring:
    • Understands the impacts of decisions on technical design and work planning.
    • Coordinates work planning and design effectively across multiple technical disciplines.
    • Prepares high quality deliverables that are on time, and within budget and scope.What We Prefer:
      • 8 years relevant experience.
      • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
      • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (depending on discipline).Additional InformationVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.Locations: Ontario, CA, Santa Ana, CA (Irvine)The approximate pay range for Los Angeles Metro Area and Orange County, CA is $105,071.02 - $164,341.85.
