EngineerLocation: Los Angeles Unified School DistrictDue Date:
11/8/24Job Description:Provide electrical design work, coordinating
with in-house staff as well as task order engineersReview
construction drawings for compliance with District standards and
mandated electrical codesProvide construction administration
support for ongoing in-house projectsPrepare electrical estimates
for project budgetsPrepare reports and Project Requirement
Documents to help obtain funding for projectsAssist Design Managers
in defining electrical scopeAssist in virtual DSA backcheck
appointmentsVisit school sites to determine as-built conditions
when as-built drawings are not available or are incorrectAssist and
resolve electrical issues during construction when a subject expert
is requested by Project Execution, to provide direction due to code
compliance issuesCoordinate with task order engineers and
electrical service providers when project sites require power
upgrade; provide guidance and approval of the designAssist Asset
Management staff in clarifying and approving electrical scope for
modernization projectsCoordinate new code requirements with the
Inspection Department and consult mandated standards to update
District design guidesConduct research on code changes and identify
the implementation methodsPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum
Requirements:Required ExperienceThree (3) years full-time paid
professional electrical design experience in a public agency,
school construction or large capital commercial projectsORValid
Certificate of Registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer
issued by the California StateBoard of Registration of Civil and
Professional EngineersRequired EducationGraduation from a
recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in
electrical engineeringOffered rate of compensation will be based on
a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education,
qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The salary
range for this position is $115,000 - $120,000.
